OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for all aspects of collecting Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (“HMDA”) data from start to finish relating to applicable residential and commercial loan applications. The individual performs final preparation and submission of HMDA Data into Ncontracts software and works with AVP Mortgage Operations to submit the Loan/Application Register (LAR) to the CFPB.  Reviews closed and adverse action loan files for Quality Control. Works in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, test, monitor and provide complex reporting for HMDA
  • Perform robust data mining and data analysis across all HMDA reportable lending products and support monthly testing.
  • Validate and assess Encompass and Laser Pro loan origination systems for data collection to ensure system processes are supported by the regulatory interpretations for accurate reporting.
  • Support audits, examinations and periodic reviews to assess levels of risk and regulatory compliance.
  • Trains and educates fellow bank employees on HMDA regulations and provides additional support as needed.
  • Completes monthly HMDA Scrubs for both Residential and Commercial loan departments to accurately collect and correct data.
  • Accurately prepares and transmits HMDA data.
  • Performs QC audits on closed and adverse action residential loan files for documentation review and accuracy. 
  • Acts as internal quality control reviewer. This includes but is not limited to data integrity, accuracy of dates and compliance with various regulations and applicable timelines.
  • Attends relevant webinars, seminars and training classes.
  • Meets with the AVP Mortgage Operations, VP Mortgage Operations, and EVP of Residential Lending to provide feedback on the HMDA and QC processes. Make suggestions for changes/updates to improve workflow.
  • Provides support as back-up closer in Residential as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or above preferred
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with residential or commercial loans
  • Knowledge of FNMA guidelines, regulatory compliance, and the mortgage application process
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with Encompass and/or Ncontracts a plus
  • Ability to work independently
