OVERVIEW

The Staff Accountant bears substantial responsibility and has commensurate authority for the full range of bank and subsidiary accounting and reporting functions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare assigned regulatory and internal financial management reports.
  • Prepare assigned monthly entries, accruals, and month-end account reconciliations.
  • Prepare internal control audits as outlined in the audit plan.
  • Reconcile Fed and Bank daily accounts and maintain Fed required funding levels.
  • Initiate wire activity.
  • Prepare other assigned daily reconciliation work.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines.
  • Be prepared to handle the daily/monthly responsibilities of the Controller, including preparing tax entries, closing the monthly books, and completing all Board reports and the CALL report.
  • Maintain department written procedures that are sufficient to allow the workflow to be uninterrupted in the absence of any employee.
  • Perform related and unrelated duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

B.A. in Accounting or its equivalent in specialized courses and accounting training.  Two (2) to three (3) years banking experience.  Proficient in Excel.  Knowledge of Bank’s policies and procedures.  Excellent organizational, detail oriented and analytical skills.  High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.  Technologically proficient.
